Turkey proposes resolution to gas dispute using Azerbaijani approach

Turkey has proposed Iran to resolve an ongoing gas dispute using the Azerbaijani approach, Turkish Minister for Energy Taner Yildiz said at the international energy forum in Kuwait, 1news.az reports.Taner Yildiz said that they may have to file a lawsuit against Iran, unless it makes concessions. He said earlier that Iranian gas exceeds the market price. Turkey plans to file a lawsuit to the International Arbitrary Court after March 16.

 Turkey has filed a lawsuit against Iran to the International Court of Arbitration for violation of gas contract, Turkish Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said, Trend reports on Wednesday.The minister added that Turkey will have to file a second claim, unless Tehran reconsiders gas prices. Turkey has already informed Iran about plans for the second lawsuit.

The Washington Post reported that Iran’s constitutional watchdog has ratified a bill that reduces diplomatic relations with Britain following London’s support of recently upgraded U.S. sanctions on Tehran. State radio says the Guardian Council ratified the bill on Monday after parliament approved it the day before. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad now has five days to sign the bill before Iran’s foreign ministry can act on it. The bill requires both Iran and Britain to withdraw their ambassador from the other country and reduce representation to the level of charge d’affaires.

'Iran-Turkey relations rapidly improving' - Ambassador

Iran's ambassador to Turkey says bilateral ties between the two countries are rapidly progressing, highlighting a significant rise in the two countries' trade ties, Press TV reports.“The train of Iran-Turkey relations is moving fast ahead thanks to measures by the two sides and will not move back,” Ambassador Bahman Hosseinpour said at a reception at Iran's embassy in Ankara on Wednesday.
